Copyright status: File:CASTLE PARK HIGH.png
[edit]Copyright status: File:CASTLE PARK HIGH.png
| This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:CASTLE PARK HIGH.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{self|cc-zero}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

"views from shore"
[edit]Special:Diff/1195550830: how is a view from an airplane a "view from shore"? Do you have other examples of that being used that way? - Jmabel ! talk 17:03, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Would you suggest Category:Aerial photographs of the USS Midway Museum, as a substitute alternative? Additionally there is also Category:USS Midway Museum. Issac I Navarro (talk) 17:05, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, Category:Aerial photographs of the USS Midway Museum; I hadn't noticed that existed, I'll change it myself. And, yes, if that didn't exist and you didn't want to create it, then Category:USS Midway Museum would probably be the best remaining choice. - Jmabel ! talk 18:28, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

- Apologies for the late reply. I didn't quit see your message till now, I removed that tag and replaced with this Category:Exey Panteleev-related deletion discussions/kept, as that Category was listed as a substitute Category. Issac I Navarro (talk) 19:18, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

- or the late response, I just now seen your message.
- I am a tad confused on what your question is. If it inquiring what gadgets I have enabled, I use; Help:Gadget-HotCat and Help:Gadget-Cat-a-lot. Issac I Navarro (talk) 00:47, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. So, can Cat-a-lot automatically noinclude cats? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 02:07, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
- I am still a little confused as to what you may be referring to. Is it the noinclude : (<noinclude> Category:deletionrequests/123 </noinclude>) that you are referring to? If so, I would have to add those manually, as
- Help:Gadget-HotCat#Input box
- shows that this is what the interface looks like when I am adding the categories. I am not aware if Gadget-Cat-a-lot has the ability to automatically add the noinclude to the deletion requests.
- Issac I Navarro (talk) 03:00, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
- I will take that as a "no". So please add such cats manually to DR subpages with the noincludes, as the automated tools have not kept up with our DR processes. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 10:54, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
- Evidently, HotCat can be coaxed into doing this, as in Special:Diff/1265620949. Perhaps Btrs can reveal how. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 06:58, 23 August 2026 (UTC)

Toy DRs
[edit]I noticed you filed a large number of DRs with the COM:TOY rationale, but many of the files you nominated aren't copyright violations, for example this trolley and the underside of a duck foot. Please make yourself more familiar with the concept of utilitarianism before filing more such DRs.
Support Jebulon (talk) 17:49, 26 April 2026 (UTC)- Thank you for the notice. For the toy trolley, it's caption read: "Milan Design Week Magis exhibition of the Agma toy trolley in 2004" I thought it being newer may be classes as COM:TOYS, as for the duck foot, I see that it comes from the Auckland Museum.
- Once again thank you for your response. Cheers. Issac I Navarro (talk) 19:22, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
Watermark vs signature

Swimwear-related deletion requests
[edit]Perhaps we should create Category:Swimwear and underwear-related deletion requests/pending (and also "/kept" and "/deleted")? Special:Diff/1226411025. I am really doubting about "nudity" or "sexuality" in File:MF3.png. Evelino Ucelo (talk) 16:27, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- I added that Category as it seemed to be more in that realm of things then any other current Category. Issac I Navarro (talk) 16:31, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- But this Category not fit. Category:Copyright deletion requests/pending and Category:Scope-related deletion requests is generic and should be suitable; but if you want fine-grained category, I still recommend creating Category:Swimwear an underwear-related deletion requests/pending by analogy with Category:Nudity and sexuality-related deletion requests/pending. Evelino Ucelo (talk) 15:46, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- I don't believe that there is a whole lot of swimwear deletion requests out there. If you feel that such a Category may be useful, Commons:Village pump may be more helpful in advice. Issac I Navarro (talk) 16:22, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- In this case, just use generic categories about "copyright" (File:MF3.png is copyright case, for example) or "scope". Thanks! Evelino Ucelo (talk) 16:25, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Thoughts on a new CSD for COM:NPORN - F11
[edit]A number of your recent DR involvements seem to be of the 'COM:NOPRON' variety.
What are your views on the creation of a specfic Criteria for Speedy deletion?
Namely - F11 - Media in violation of COM:NOPORN and related policy on new uploads containing nudity.
Thoughts? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 06:54, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- That sounds good. That would give the easy in ability for deletion of objective files that don't fit into scope.
- Truth be told, I haven't been on Commons all that long, I have been mostly on en wiki. However, I been attempting to expand my use.
- I noticed that @A1Cafel and @Alexis Jazz, are quite involved in those types of deletion requests perhaps they might have more insight. Issac I Navarro (talk) 07:03, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- ShakespeareFan00, seems like a bad idea. Commons is not censored. I didn't agree with the creation of COM:CSD#F10, but we have it, and it covers blurry dickpics.
I look at Issac's contributions. Very first DR: Commons:Deletion requests/File:69 position.jpg. This is a complete misunderstanding of policy. That is not a "low-resolution or poor-quality files that provide little descriptive information about a subject". It's a well-lit sufficient resolution photo that could serve very well to illustrate w:69 (sex position). There is no scope concern with that file.- It's so good it's professional (and copyvio): https://pinklabel.tv/on-demand/film/sex-lessons-69s-positions-by-maria-and-axel/.
Really ridiculous to refer to a policy for blurry dickpics to get that deleted. That policy doesn't apply to subjects we don't have many images of and it doesn't apply to high quality media.
Issac, I see there's much more. I'll ask one time: will you stop? If not, COM:ANU will be our next stop. (if this comes across as harsh, sorry - anti-nudity crusaders come here from time to time and several contributors, including me, have lost their patience with them)- Not, harsh at all, I totally understand your frustration and lost of patience. I am on en wiki more and do some edits in WikiProject Schools, and obvious vandalism from COI gets frustrating/exhausting. Once again thanks, for the heads up. Cheers. Hi, can you let me know why this is removed from "Golfers in art"? You removed it twice without a comment. In my opinion, this is clearly an example of "golfers in art", and perhaps less so of "Illustrations of golf" as she is not actually golfing. But I can see that that category may apply too - one does not exclude the other. Thanks -- Deadstar (msg) 07:55, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- Definitely. Apologies I removed it twice without a message been using hotcat.
- I didn't realize I removed it twice. I been going over a lot of golf related files over the past few days, trying to sort them out. I been wanting to work more on en wiki's golf related topic, however, I found it was impossible to find the golf related images.
- Per en:WP:HC, and en:WP:DIFFUSE it seemed to be in line with parent and child cats. Help:Gadget-Cat-a-lot. Issac I Navarro (talk) 15:02, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- I added it back now, per your comment. Thanks for your reply! -- Deadstar (msg) 18:21, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- What might you suggest to to have it in? In the child cat or parent? Issac I Navarro (talk) 18:35, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry, I realised you actually moved a lot of "golfers in art" to "Illustrations of golf". My understanding is that we have:
- Category:Golf in art: this holds all files and categories about golf in any artful form. Under that:
- Category:Illustrations of golf: illustrations (so drawings, prints, but not paintings) of golf, including golfers, golf parties, swing demonstrations, diagrams of how to play, illustrations of golf clubs, tees, holes, golfballs, clubhouses, etc.
- Category:Paintings of golf: paintings of golf, including golfers, golf parties, swing demonstrations, diagrams of how to play, illustrations of golf clubs, tees, holes, golfballs, clubhouses, etc.
- Category:Golfers in art: has all files that depict golfers (typically, people with golf clubs, or famous golf players) in any artful form (illustration, painting, statue). This category does not have artful golf diagrams, tees, clubhouse, golf balls etc.
- Category:Golf in art: this holds all files and categories about golf in any artful form. Under that:
- So the two categories (illustrations of golf and golfers in art) are sister categories under "golf in art". Let me know if that made it any clearer? -- Deadstar (msg) 19:07, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- That seems appropriate. I can concur with that rationale.
- Also to note, there is also Category:Postcards of golf, that seems to be a bit of those matters. Issac I Navarro (talk) 19:58, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- Related question for you - do you think Category:Golf maps should be renamed Category:Maps of golf courses? I think that would be much more to the point? -- Deadstar (msg) 08:11, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- Indeed, that seems to be an excellent idea. Issac I Navarro (talk) 13:48, 17 July 2026 (UTC)

Warning
[edit]Hi Issac I Navarro. I noticed that a deletion request you made was not done correctly.
This is not an unusual mistake, but I'm leaving you this message to help you get this right in the future.
There are several steps to making a deletion request (DR) correctly; among other things you must transclude the deletion into the correct daily DR list, and notify the page creator and optionally other human (non-bot) editors of the page. By far the easiest way to do all of this correctly is to use the automatic Nominate for deletion or Nominate category for discussion tool in the Tools menu on the sidebar per COM:DR#Starting requests and COM:CFD#Starting requests, which takes care of all that using vetted Javascript. If you prefer to add the {{Delete}} template or {{Category for discussion}} template manually, you are required to follow the instructions in the template, including the "Click here to show further instructions" portion (or Commons:Deletion requests/Listing a request manually policy or the "By hand" portion of COM:CFD#Starting requests, normally collapsed). Again, though, there is no need to follow complex instructions if you use the automatic tools.
Also worth knowing: on Commons, {{Delete}} is not a "speedy delete" request like it is on many other projects; instead, it starts a discussion of whether the file should be deleted. If you think a particular media file really obviously does not belong on Commons, see the instructions at Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion. Common cases that are better handled with a speedy delete than a DR include:
- own work within 7 days (COM:CSD#G7)
- empty category never likely to be used (COM:CSD#C2).
Common bad reasons people have for making DRs in the first place include:
- after renaming a category, trying to delete the resulting redirect in violation of policy COM:CATRED
- making a DR for a file where there is already a current DR
- trying to delete one's own work within 7 days (use {{G7}} instead)
- placing {{Delete}} on the deletion subpage itself, or on a talk page.
Also, please don't use {{Ffd}} (that's an English Wikipedia thing).
If you have further questions about the deletion process, you can ask them at COM:Help desk or COM:Village pump. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 21:57, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
- @Jeff G., That's strange, I was using mobile while I made that DR. Issac I Navarro (talk) 22:00, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
- Well, you didn't make or transclude Commons:Deletion requests/File:Aasstudioaslampic.jpg, or notify Aslamraza123. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 01:45, 2 September 2026 (UTC)
- It's strange as it also didn't automatically also add Category:MobileUpload-related deletion requests tag to the DR. Issac I Navarro (talk) 01:57, 2 September 2026 (UTC)
Clicking "proceed" will add the Delete template to the file description page create the Deletion Request discussion page add the discussion page to the daily log notify the uploader with a message in their preferred language using your signature, which is your IP address if you are not logged-in. These are the steps, which must be done for an ordinary deletion request. Please be sure your request is in accordance with our deletion policy.

tif and jpg
[edit]FYI File:Golfing, vol. 1, no. 5. LCCN2014646821.tif is fine to co-exist with the jpg. There are probably a couple of hundred thousand examples. The reason is that the jpg renders a better thumbnail on Commons but is a compressed image, while the tif is most often the original uncompressed scan but renders a more blurred thumbnail due to the mediawiki software, not because of a file problem.
Hence we chose to upload both. Fæ (talk) 21:21, 4 September 2026 (UTC)

Nominated for Deletion of my uploaded files of toys
[edit]Oh what criteria of COM:TOYS got my files nominated for Deletion? The products were bought entirely by me and I have not faced a CRV for my own clicked media (except for that poster which I admit was naive of me, shouldn't have done - although I didn't contested that deletion because I accept that it was wrong).
Not promoting any brand, too. Just posting images I clicked my(own)self.

Why I am not active on enWP
[edit]As you noticed (or, rather, someone else did and you noticed their comment), my enWP account was blocked, with the deletion reason being a vague "ArbComBlock". I emailed the committee and got this:
The Committee has evidence of your activity off-wiki that has convinced us that your activity is focused on exposing others to pornographic materials rather than building an encyclopedia and providing education.
Since this completely ignores the context of the conversations I participated, my neutrality throughout the whole dispute, as well as my major contributions outside of controversial themes, I will be appealing the block. There are dedicated arbirtage and appeal channels where I could post it, but I can't even edit my talk page, because apparently that one single isolated incident nullifies my contributions entirely. So the only way I can do it is via the emails again.

- I have taken notice of many of your edits for a while now, as I have a number of controversial/NSFW pages on my watchlist on enwiki that you often also edit. Those pages are often the source of attacks or vandalism, and on those pages, you seem to be productive. I have also noticed your work over here on Commons. Such as deletion requests, and I have even nominated a few of your files for deletion myself. Many deletion requests involving your uploads have ultimately ended with a consensus to keep.
- While I do personally question some of your methods, (mainly this whole mess) I do my best to always assume good faith in all editors. Your contributions haven't raised red flags in my mind, other than this massive mess, which I will say you also seem to be very productive in. I really have not seen anything that will suggest you misconduct of Wikipedia. Issac I Navarro (talk) 22:06, 24 September 2026 (UTC)
- @Dabmasterars: Good luck with that. Contrary to the message Enwiki doesn’t want you
building an encyclopedia and providing education
; it wants you to avoid making the gerontocracy of a couple dozen or so vested contributors uncomfy. I think it’s more than likely someone dug up dirt on you on Wikipediocracy (the Enwiki elite’s Tammany Hall, basically) and used their connections to ArbCom to get you blocked. CSD C2
[edit]I've declined two of your recent CSD C2 tags. In the future, please remove any subcategories from the category (switching them over to the new category, if appropriate), before tagging them CSD C2. Thanks, The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 22:27, 24 September 2026 (UTC)
- Hell, no!
- If they're not empty beforehand, then CSD#C2 doesn't apply. That's the point of it.
- If you have to delete or remove a bunch of content beforehand, then that is not a speedy anything. Use CfD / DR instead and discuss it, because this is a group project. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:01, 24 September 2026 (UTC)

- Clearly both of those depend on a highly political choice of terminology between "men" and "male people" & c. I care absolutely nothing for this. I neither know nor care if one is reckoned to be a superset of the other, or a more appropriate term.
- But I do know the following:
- Moving one to the other and then calling for the deletion of the first is a judgement call, where you are choosing the 'right' term.
- This is a judgement that is way beyond CSD. It's a judgement I'm not touching with a very long pole, it's so political. So it's obviously far past CSD. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:18, 24 September 2026 (UTC)
- A discussion may have been better. It just seems a little redundant to have two categories of the same subject.
- We could have reproductive system or genitalia in the title. As I don't want this to be a political or controversial matter.
- I nominated the category as I been trying to sort out a number of different files and noticed the redundancy in haveing both. Issac I Navarro (talk) 23:23, 24 September 2026 (UTC)
- I'm not saying there isn't duplication, although there may well be some gender politics argument I'm unaware of that there isn't. But 'simply' removing duplication is rarely simple, because it implies favouring one choice over another. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:41, 24 September 2026 (UTC)

This is a deletion request for the community to discuss whether the nominated page should be kept or deleted. Please voice your opinion in the linked request above. Thank you very much! If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Warning 2
[edit]Hi Issac I Navarro. I noticed that deletion requests you made 1 and 2 were not done correctly.
This is not the first time you've made this mistake; when you get this wrong, it creates a fair amount of work for other people to clean it up. Please do try to get this right in the future.
— 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 00:35, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @Jeff G., maybe you can help me get to the bottom of what is going on. For that deletion request I did use the automatic Nominate for deletion or Nominate category for discussion tool on the side bar. I was using mobile at the time of that deletion request. I am assuming that this an issue on my side. I know at times my internet could be spotty, could that be a possibility? Or is there a different factor that may be at play, that is not allowing the automatic nomination tool work properly? Issac I Navarro (talk) 00:44, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
- In such cases, please check your work and finish up manually if necessary to avoid polluting Category:Incomplete deletion requests - missing subpage (which I just cleaned). You may also want to report to COM:VPT. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 01:21, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, for the feedback, I will keep a better eye on that.
- If it happens again I will be sending a report to VPT. Thank you again; also, thank you for your work on cleaning up that category. Issac I Navarro (talk) 01:24, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
