My Story:
My name is Krysteen Young and i am the feature twirler at St. Albans High School, in St. Albans, West Virginia. I have been twirling for 12 years, i was twirler at my middle school and twirler at my high school the past two years. The past year of my life has been a very unbeliveable one and i would like to share my story to many twirler around the U.S. or even the world. See just six months ago i had a intra cerebral brain hemrage and was brain dead and on life support of a month. The Dr's gave me a 3-5% chance to make it out of my comma and even if i did i would be paralized for life. Well i proved to them that miricles can happen. On the day before i was supposed to be pulled of life support i came back. When i came out of my comma i couldn't read, write, talk or even walk. My worse fear was at my face, that i would probally never walk again let alone twirl. I was heart broken. But in a matter of not months but weeks i was up walking . I had to start completely over learning how to do even a basic baton tricks that a child could probably do. But it was amazing how quick i got better at my twirling and now i am even better than i was before i got sick. This past year i have competed with my band at competitions and have won the following awards:
Kanawha County Majorette Festival- First runner up Miss Kanawha Majorette, 3rd place twirler

Cabel Midland Festival- Outstanding Feature Twirler Award- First place

Point Pleasant Festival- 3rd place twirler award

I never thought i would even be twirling again let alone be better then i was before. I have came a long way and thanks to God i am here to share my story.
