POTD caption error

The word trumpet in the caption should not be capitalized. - Bri (talk) 20:37, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

too late to see this :) _signed, Aafi (guesthouse) 13:49, 7 July 2026 (UTC)

Media of the day: Fomalhaut B

This decision for todays Media of the day probably was done some years ago, but today this hubblecast looks rather outdated when camparing to the current Wikipedia pages of this ‚planet‘. Under these circumstances the MOTD at least should be marked as ‚not up to date‘ or ‚historic‘. —PtrQs (talk) 13:12, 11 July 2026 (UTC)

Edit request: Link target

Ep On the word "Images" in header, change the link target from Category:CommonsRoot to Category:Images. The link target should match what the link text says, and CommonsRoot is not specific to images. Rose Abrams (talk) 10:37, 21 July 2026 (UTC)

• Animalia > Animals
• Plantae > Plants

Both links currently link to the taxonomic group, which can be very difficult to navigate without knowledge of taxonomy. Most people casually browsing from the main page probably don't have that knowledge, and thus these links are confusing when they have to navigate endless sub-categories to find the species they're looking for. Edit request: Add 3D models to finding media by type

Edit request

For the hidden section to find media by type, change

Videos

to

Videos

3D models

so that 3D models are available to select. ForeverFlying (talk) 09:15, 6 August 2026 (UTC)

Edit request: Add Announcement

Edit request Hello there! As noted on COM:AN#Main Page Announcement, I'd appreciate it if the Main Page announcement section could be updated with the following code:

|Announcement Title=Wiki Loves Peace

|Announcement Text= <div style="margin-left: 0.3em; padding-right: 0.6em; line-height: 1.5; color: inherit; font-size: 1.6em">Share your photos of peace heritage, memorials, museums, and monuments in Wiki Loves Peace 2026. Learn more about the campaign!</div>

Thank you very much. Raydann (talk) 06:42, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

@Raydann: , with all respect, we probably need some kind of consensus before the main page gets modified. Could you please try getting this consensus at the Village Pump assuming you have not done this elsewhere? Ymblanter (talk) 11:53, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

Dear @Ymblanter, thank you for the guidance, I understand. Will start a Village Pump discussion for the announcement. Raydann (talk) 12:10, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

FYI: Commons:Village pump#Request for Main Page Announcement for Wiki Loves Peace 2026. Best. Raydann (talk) 12:39, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

Done, pls let me know if I screwed up smth--Ymblanter (talk) 17:31, 22 September 2026 (UTC)

Dear @Ymblanter, thank you so much for understanding the urgency! Just a tiny fix is needed to avoid future confusion. The main page source text already has |Announcement Title and |Announcement Text fields with the remnants of the last announcement. Currently, these fields are duplicated with the addition of WLP. Please delete the previous ones, and move the WLP one to their place. They're under this hidden comment: <!--Turn off "Announcement box" by blanking "Announcement Title" -->. Best.
