Try-outs are very competitive. Seven spots are available, but each girl must score a minimum of 100 on a 150 point scale. Girls are scored on a twirl routine, kick routine, and an individual routine. The twirl and kick routine are taught at try-outs. The individual routine should be between 3 to 5 minutes.
We practise really hard at Band Camp!
The squad begins practising two days a week in the summer. Each of these sessions last about three hours. Band Camp begins August 14 and continues (Monday to Friday) through August 25. Band Camp is mandatory! Practise during the school year is on Tuesday and Thursday after school, generally until 4:30, with the Marching Band. Competition practises begin in January or February. There are practises two or three days a week, depending on the squad.
