Clemson twirlers posing in their new "Tiger Tops" at the TigerRama homecoming celebration
The 2004 Tiger Twirlers are Julie Major (Captain), Lindsay Mattocks, Emily Warren, Tiffany Gaskins, and April Dorsey. The feature twirler is Jaletta Long, who is also the 2005 Miss Anderson County and will be competing in the Miss South Carolina Pageant in July 2005.

Tiger Twirler Tryouts are April 9th, 2005. Potential candidates should have one routine choreographed to their own music and instructors, Lindsey Martin and Hazel Cartee will teach a group routine before the individual auditions. The judges look for appearance, grace, sharpness, and at least an intermediate level of twirling. In tryout routines, the current Tiger Twirlers have included three and four turns, toss illusions, two and three baton, toss cartwheels, splits, leaps, other body work, and various rolls. For feature twirler, at least a double illusion and double walkover are required. Other advanced abilities are considered.

On the field, the twirling line does many exchanges, two turns, toss illusions, two baton, and the routines include dance twirling.

This year was the second annual "Tiger Twirler For a Day" where twirlers from all over the country twirl with the Tiger Twirlers at a Clemson Football game. This year 172 twirlers from ages 5-18 attended! The program boosted twirler scholarships and will help broaden Clemson's twirling program in the future. It is a wonderful recruitment tool, and the girls had a great time!

The Tiger Twirlers' previous teachers include Nancy Drennen, Brenda Flowers Ooten, Eileen Webster, and Kathy McCarrell Smith.

The Clemson instructors are well known twirling teachers and judges. Hazel Cartee and Lindsey Martin do a wonderful job choreographing routines and they give helpful guidance on and off the field.
