Seems to stem from Flicker washing (COM:LL), all seem to copyvios. Here are some posts I found:

I noticed and found this post on Twitter: Warning NSFW https://x.com/NuniCult/status/2099599801176273068?s=20 states Oh I fw it don't worry!
I will admit that me not knowing beforehand does set a bad precedent and that is something Wikipedia should improve upon, but I'm very happy about the hucow thing lmao
. VRT may be needed if the files are kept. --Issac I Navarro (talk) 09:01, 16 September 2026 (UTC)

- Just found https://x.com/NuniCult/status/1964780715788341566?s=20 - the HuCow file Issac I Navarro (talk) 20:13, 16 September 2026 (UTC)
- That photo appears to be pulled from the listed website and it is highly doubtful the model consented to be in the the public domain and displayed on Wikipedia. Fyunck(click) (talk) 23:04, 16 September 2026 (UTC)

- I mean, she's posted on twitter implying she's sad it got removed from the hucow page. https://x.com/NuniCult/status/2099379830164746250 So, like, maybe there is a copyright issue but "highly doubtful she consented" does not appear to be accurate. ~2026-50834-74 (talk) 22:43, 20 September 2026 (UTC)
- (And in that tweet she's also specifically calling out that a _previous_ justification for removing the image from the hucow page was incorrect, so IDK maybe we should think a little about how throwing multiple reasons to purge a specific trans woman from both wikipedia and the commons against the wall until you find one that sticks looks queerphobic? Even if you do come up with a legitimate reason?) ~2026-50834-74 (talk) 22:51, 20 September 2026 (UTC)
- I agree with that any of the previous justification on English Wikipedia to remove the photo were not correct and were quickly restored. I fully support the photo still being used, only if the copyright concerns were addressed. Issac I Navarro (talk) 02:29, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
- I actually added the photo to the page, after coming across it on Commons. However, on Commons we need a proper license as this seems to be the subject of Flickr washing.
- I think a w:Images from social media, or elsewhere would be the easiest option if the author wishes to release it under a Creative Commons license. Yet, there are a number of ways; there is also the Volunteer Response Team if there was to be a ticket. That would looking something like: permission is sent to VRT → VRT verifies it → image can be hosted on Commons. See en:WP:BRP and also see Template:Email templates/Consent. And these are what the different creative commons license are; COM:WKL and meta:Free knowledge based on Creative Commons licenses.
- If the creator was also to release other pictures of her choosing under that same license we would also be able to COM:HOST her photographs, given if they are in COM:SCOPE. Issac I Navarro (talk) 02:14, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
